I am a bit conflicted about this "VR movie". Do I review the VR-part, or the movie-part? I am not impressed with the sort "choice" of graphics, but then that might be pure hardware issues, as it will be with VR for a while... The ground/floor is so FLAT... It was a constant reminder, that threw me out of the story telling. The voice acting is mostly fine, but sometimes disturbs the continuity (maybe it's the sound recording?). As does the weird "loading" in scenes. Perhaps also due to hardware limitations as well. Story progression is a bit slow... However, the music is awesome, Junkie XL always seems to do that well. I still recommend it. Perhaps only to support the effort and to get others to learn from it. It's an interesting new way to tell stories.. I have no doubt VR films made by DreamWorks and Pixar are going to be a fantastic experience, the Great C gives an idea of what it might be like to watch, but in days of old a main film in the Cinema was often accompanied by a B movie, this dreary and disjointed story is barely B movie standard, although it lasted around 30 minutes OMG it dragged on. There’s going to be much better stuff out there in the future, you might want to wait for it and give this a miss. I hope the creators of the great C get their hands on a better story to work with next time.. Didn't like the story. Didnt care about the characters. Cimematography and graphics are goodbut it's almost like a showcase of flashy graphics while being dragged through the story.Check out Digital Domain's Monkey King it's like the opposite. Ugly graphics with a compelling story.. Excellent story telling and narrative using VR.. A very unique storytelling experience. I opted for the full cinematic camera because VR never makes me vomit.Very impressive visuals and audio. Although it's a non-interactive story... I certainly recommend it to anyone who likes to be immersed in VR storytelling.No performance issues on my 1070 + Ryzen 1700. I watched this on my HTC Vive.I certainly hope to see more stories presented in this way.. more please ,and this is my review report that should say it all ,yes its not A GAME but if tv was like this then what a way to kickback. A few titles jumped out at me these last few weeks, however this one made me re-watch it. I chose the cinimatic mode. No ill effects and the acting was great, Very well done team. Thats a great stab at making a vr movie, I like how it progresses. Some other developers want to take notice of this, there are so many things here that work great. I am compleatly sure that there is a ton of hours behind the art and capture of this, and it was well done. The eyes bugged me out some, but I also know this is the hardest part of a human to dictate. Emotion is hard to duplicate, but you pulled it of well. It was recived. This is something more people need to see, and hope this small reveiw helps some. If you have the compatability, the price is that of a movie, that you can revisit because it's in your library.
